Katie Neff is a New York– and Boston–based cinematographer, camera operator, broadcast director, and technical director with a passion for combining striking visuals with flawless technical execution. A Massachusetts native whose creative path has taken her from studying film in Prague to directing live broadcasts in New York City, Katie brings a worldly perspective and an exacting eye to every project.
Her broadcast and live production credits include directing and technical directing for Bloomberg, NBCUniversal, and Discovery, where she has managed live feeds, switcher effects, and studio content delivery using Sony Multi M/E switchers, Evertz Bravo, and ENPS systems.
As a camera operator, Katie has captured everything from the energy of UFC Watch Parties and the fast-paced action of NY Islanders games to commercial campaigns for brands like Woodford Reserve and the Food Network. She’s brought her skills to narrative shorts, documentary PSAs, and hit TV shows such as TLC’s Unpolished and Cribs.
Her background also includes years as a certified optical technician at Panavision and AbelCine, where she specialized in lens rehousing, detuning, repair, and large-scale optical calibration for NYC productions.
Whether crafting cinematic narratives, directing live television, or solving complex technical challenges, Katie thrives in the space where artistry meets precision. Off set, she’s an avid photographer and hands-on creator, always seeking new ways to capture light, movement, and the moments in between.
